“We seem to gain wisdom more readily through our failures than through our successes. We always think of failure as the antithesis of success, but it isn't. Success often lies just the other side of failure.”
-Leo F. Buscaglia
Yesterday was a historic day for the new generation of poker players such as myself. Anyone who plays poker has heard about the initial falling of the sky back in the Party Poker days...Something that we never were prepared to face.
Trying to just think logically about what to do, I spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon blank starring at my monitors while talking on skype with the other SngReason coaches.
Some good news, I did just sign on with Blackchippoker.com as a sponsored pro. The Merge network is up and running fine right now as the processors. If anyone reading is interested in signing up, I can get your 40%+ rakeback. The cash games are pretty juicy... I know you serious grinders need to get back on your feet, hopefully I can be of service.
Having about 80,000 locked up is such a surreal amount. I've never actually had all the money in my bank account, so it's tough to really grasp. I only sorted to fathom it when I was calculating where all my funds were. I don't have much in my bank account at home and i'm not diversified at all. If anything has ever motivated me to grind, it's this.
I encourage everyone to keep using this time to be as productive as possible and to worry about the things that are within your control.
I'm keeping this short because things are still in a frenzy and i'm already focusing hard on rebuilding.
Best of luck to you all,
-Reasons14

I think it would be pretty dumb to play online poker if you live in the US at the moment. What makes this site safe? It would be very dumb for anyone to play real money poker online.
The only problem as of late is the processors in which the big three sites used have been shut down because they were involved in illegal activities. The processors that BlackChip uses are completely different and have not been targeted in any way. As far as I am concerned, the merge network is not involved with any sort of laundering.
During peak times, merge will have ~7000 players which is a huge contrast to the 250k that stars has. The reasoning behind the recent seizing is that the American government is ran very poorly and is in loads of debt. Therefore, they are going after what money they can get a hold of. Plan and simple, under the circumstances that Merge is involved with illegal activities, I highly doubt the government would target it as it simply is not worth it.
I, as well as other longtime players, are very confident in the Merge network at the moment.
"The charges are conspiracy to violate Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), violation of UIGEA, operation of illegal gambling business, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud, and money laundering conspiracy."
They are charged with many things. Obviously online poker violates UIGEA. It sucks but it's better to stay away from any poker sites and wait until all the stuff becomes more clear. It's just a matter of time before DOJ goes after other poker sites operating in the US. Is the gamble worth it? I don't think so. It's just my opinion though....
I am not sure about whether it is a good time to sign up, but you never know do you. I know the FBI are saying that your money is safe, but do you know what that actually means?
